During the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars many military members deployed and returned home. Some made the ultimate sacrifice in the fight against terrorism.

Army 2nd Lt. Benjamin J. Colgan
Died November 1, 2003 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom
30, of Kent, WA; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Giessen, Germany; killed Nov. 1 when he responded to a rocket-propelled grenade attack and was struck with an improvised explosive device in Baghdad.

Army Sgt. Maj. Michael B. Stack
Died April 11, 2004 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom
48, of Lake City, SC; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group, Fort Campbell, KY; killed April 11 by hostile fire in Anbar province, Iraq.

Navy Cryptologic Technician 1st Class Steven Phillip Daugherty
Died July 6, 2007 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom
28, of Barstow, CA; assigned to an East Coast-based SEAL team; died July 6 as a result of enemy action while conducting combat operations near Baghdad. Also killed were Mass Communications Specialist 1st Class Robert Richard McRill and Special Warfare Operator 1st Class (SEAL) Jason Dale Lewis.

Army Command Sgt. Maj. Benjamin Moore Jr.
Died April 24, 2009 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom
43, of Waycross, GA; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, HI; died April 24 at Contingency Operating Base Speicher, Iraq, of injuries sustained in a noncombat-related incident.

Navy Special Warfare Operator Chief (SEAL) Adam L. Brown
Died March 18, 2010 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom
36, of Hot Springs, AR; assigned to an East Coast-based SEAL Team; died March 18 in Afghanistan.

Army Staff Sgt. Esau S.A. Gonzales
Died May 3, 2010 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom
30, of White Deer, TX; assigned to the 38th Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company, Fort Stewart, GA; died May 3 in Mosul, Iraq, of injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident.
